FAIRFIELD HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1974
Out of 211 members of the Fairfield High School Class of 1974, 45 members celebrated their 35th class reunion July 31 and Aug. 1.
Classmates and their spouses gathered the evening of July 31 at the Elks Club for a pre-party gathering. On the evening of Aug. 1, classmates and spouses or friends gathered at the Best Western Fairfield Inn ballroom for a social hour and buffet dinner. Jim EDGETON and Marla McDOWELL FAGA served as masters of ceremonies for the festivities while 1970's music played in the background throughout the evening.
Classmates in attendance were each given a compiled address book that included histories of the local grade schools, middle school and high school. A moment of silence was observed to remember deceased classmates. Classmates also were recognized with prizes for various achievements. Special guests attending included former principal Dwain Dooley with wife Jane and Lee Gobble. Classmates attending for the first time in 35 years were Tim HESSERT and Linda TEETER.
The 35th reunion committee members were Jane FRITZ SYMMONDS, Colleen BURGER BATES, Carolyn DIERS SCHLICHER, Connie GRIMES RATHBUN, Jeff MEYERS, Gary RODGERS, Ron ROLAND, Marian SCHULTZ MILENDER, Marla McDOWELL FAGA, John VAN WINKLE, Jane BLAKELY SCOTT, Tim PACHA, Jim EDGETON, and Dixie DAVISSON KLOPFENSTEIN.
Classmates and spoused attending from the Fairfield area included the following: Jane BLAKELY and Kevin SCOTT; Coleen BURGER and Randy BATES; Debra BURHNAM PEIFFER; Steve BURNS; Carolyn DIERS and Dan SCHLICHER; Dwight and Nancy DIERS; Jim EDGETON; Jane FRITZ and Virgil SYMMONDS; Connie GRIMES and John RATHBUN; Jerry LANGNER; Lonnie and Becky MYERS; Gary and Teresa RODGERS; Ron ROLAND and Patty AHLAND; Marian SCHULTZ and Len MILENDER; Laura SIMPSON; Kay WAGNER and Terry STEELE; Linda TEETER; Gail THOMAS; John and Diane VAN WINKLE; and Lane and Julie VORHIES. A donation by the Class of 1974 has been made to the Greater Jefferson County Foundation and to the Education Foundation of Fairfield Public Schools.
