HINSHAW has 90th birthday

An open house celebrating the 90th birthday of Kermit L. HINSHAW is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. March 29 at the Woolson Friends Church Fellowship Hall.

This event is being hosted by his four children: John and Reka HINSHAW of Ankeny, Emily and John EMONIN of Marion, Korwin and Judi HINSHAW of Fairfield and Sallie and Terry HAYES of Fairfield. Friends and family are invited to attend.

Throughout the years, HINSHAW also sold and exported harness horses to Great Britain, Holland, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Canada and was the first to export harness horses to Hungary, which also made him one of the first to export harness horses to a communist country.

HINSHAW, a World War II veteran, was a corporal in the United States Army, serving in the 250th Signal Operations Company in the European Theatre. He has been a member of the Richland American Legion for more than 50 years.
