"Fairfield Ledger Weekly", June 3, 1869

Excellent Marksmanship.--- Mr. Eli KIRK, a target shooter of Jefferson county, fired fifteen consecutive shots at a target, distant sixty yards, putting every ball inside of a circle no larger than a silver ten cent piece. The gun used on this occasion was made at the gunshop of A. R. BYRKIT, Fairfield, Iowa. -- "State Register."

The above shooting occurred about six or seven years ago. Eli now wears glasses, but the gun is as good as ever, and BYRKIT is still in the business.
