19 Year Old found Dead

A body found Monday afternoon in the area of 2000 W. Grimes Ave. has been identified as 19-year-old Jeremy Edward Hungerford of 304 W. Jackson Ave.

The Fairfield Police Department was contacted Monday after construction workers found Hungerford's body, which appeared to have been at the location for some time.

The body was transported to the stale medical examiner's office in Ankeny for an autopsy. A preliminary report from the medical examiner's office indicates that hypothermia was the cause of death.

Foul play in Hungerford's death is not suspected at this time. The investigation, which is being conducted by the Fairfield Police Department and state medical examiner's office, is ongoing.

A graveside memorial service for Hungerford will be May 25 at Evergreen Cemetery.

Hungerford is survived by his mother and sister.
