FOUR CORNERS - - Inhabitants number 24; one church; one store, established in 1873; one repair shop, the manager invidious of other blacksmiths by first class workmanship. Postmaster J. L. LEAFGREEN, a musician, royally entertains the ladies when they visit his establishment. The coal mines south of here will be extensively operated this winter. Mr. J. F. H. MILLER contemplates securing a position at the Eshelman mills. Mr. PETERSON, being incapacitated to do manual labor, will have a sale this week. Anthon ZIHLMAN was mixed up in a runaway accident last week; it was thought he was seriously injured, but with efficient medical aid he will be around in a few weeks. On the 10th inst., John RUPP, jr., J. K. & I. E. VORHIES started on a journey overland to Nebr. Arthur M. KAUFFMAN is traveling in the west; this is his second annual pleasure trip; he is now at Denver, Colo. The Board of Directors met on the 17th inst.; the usual business transacted. Literary 18th inst.; opening address by F. O. DANIELSON. He addressed the audience in a strong, clear voice, his gestures being forcible and vigorous. It was well received. Others did well. At the close of the debate, after minor business, the judges decided in favor of protection. Thursday the elite of society spent a pleasant evening in the luxuriously furnished parlors of C. J. CARLSON. An elaborate menu was served. After bidding goodnight to the fair hostess, Miss Ellen, the guests departed..... Nota Bene.
