PLACED FLAG ON PEKING WALLS. An Iowa soldier placed the first American flag on the walls of the city of Peking when it was captured by the allied troops. His name is Earl Calvin TITUS, and Fairfield people will have some interest in the matter because his grandfather, the late Thomas TITUS, was a resident of Fairfield for many years, while his father, Calvin TITUS, grew to manhood here. Young TITUS is an enlisted musician.....
