HOMES OF FAIRFIELD. 200 East Burlington St.. Standard Oil Co.. Built in 1926 on the site of a station or stopping place of the Western Stage Company, whose vehicles stopped at this point from 1840 until 1867. It was then sold to Johnston MOORE and from then the place was used as a bus and livery barn. There was a well on the lot and it was the city's original filling station. Here the ox-teams were unyoked from the prairie schooners and allowed to rest and drink.
