The lot owned by David LOCKE presents a thriving appearance. The wagon, plow and paint shop has been built more than a year. It is a two-story frame 20x40. In addition to this he has erected a brick blacksmith shop, 25x60, with four forges running in it. His residence, also built within a year, is a two-story frame 16x36, with a fine cellar under it. His grinding shop is 16x20.

An additional interest is given to manufactures. David LOCKE has manufactured a large number of wagons, all of which have been sold rapidly. His plows are also meeting with a much readier sale than formerly. Johnston MOORE is also meeting with a full demand for first class wagons, a large number of which have been and will be manufactured by him. Other branches of trade are prospering, and prove that our town has much life and public spirit in it. We delight to note these evidences of prosperity.

Four wagons a week is the number now made by David LOCKE. The wheels are all boiled in oil, but he still sells wagons cheaper than anyone else.

Our farmers who have used them, say the wagons made by David LOCKE are the best and the cheapest of any offered in Fairfield. And the great advantage is that he warrants his wagons and is here to make his warrantee good.

AT HOME. After an absence of about three months in Ireland, our friend Mr. David LOCKE returns to Fairfield. The Wagon and Plow business will now be conducted more briskly than ever.

LOCKE's carriage and wagon factory is one of the busiest places in town just now. A large force of men are putting up a lot of new work, and in it are some very excellent and handsome vehicles. These shops are turning out some really fine buggies and phaetons, and are also making preparations to engage extensively in the manufacture of a cart of Mr. LOCKE's own design.
