HOMES OF FAIRFIELD. 206 E. Burlington. DAVID HOME. Charles DAVID's heirs. This house was built for Charles DAVID, the old time hardware merchant, by Willard PLACE in 1858. This man sold goods for Daniel YOUNG, and married a sister of Mrs. YOUNG. In 1859 he was made Street Commissioner of this city and is the official who first put in the stump crossings at the alleys and the street corners around the public square. These arrangements were soon abandoned but there were many remains of them as late as 1871.
Note: In 1966, the 206 East Burlington Ave. location is occupied by the office building of Dr. C. F. WATSON.
