"Lockridge Herald", Fri., Jan. 26, 1912, Pg. 1, Col. 2

NEW HOME OF DR. PARSONS FINE. President and Mrs. W. E. PARSONS have moved into their beautiful new home. The residence is situated just north of the campus on the ground which President PARSONS purchased some time ago. "Broad View" is the name which they have given to their new home and it certainly is very appropriate, for the house commands a fine prospect of Iowa scenery, as far as any the State can afford.... The old house which for so long has been furnished for the President of the College, is not yet to be retired from active service, but will now become the Conservatory of Music. This building, erected in 1853, has long been a land-mark to Fairfield.... Here the college was organized and until the erection of Ankeny Hall in 1876, its spacious rooms did duty as chapel, recitation and society halls.....

(Note: Broadview demolished in the spring of 1966.)
