"Fairfield Tribune", May 28, 1885, Pg. 3, Col. 2

Through the kindness of Mrs. S. W. COFFIN, we enjoyed a breakfast of the celebrated German carp fish, the same having been furnished Mrs. C. by the PUMPHREY boys. The fish was remarkably sweet and palatable, and of the finest flavor. If the carp will flourish in our Iowa weather, there can be no question of its edibility.
