From the Prill transcriptions -- source not specified, but many such descriptions appeared in the "Fairfield Ledger" in December, 1932, and January, 1933, non-inclusive...

PUMPHREY Homestead. The original PUMPHREY brothers' home stood at 801 East Burlington Street. It was built in 1852 by James JEFFERS for Samuel PEEBLER, from whose heirs Wm. F. PUMPHREY bought 160 acres in the fall of 1858 through Slagle & Acheson, lawyers. He came from Licking County, Ohio, that year with an infant, Henry F., born the same year. Mr. PUMPHREY went into the making of fanning mills and continued it until his death in 1893. He left four heirs, H.F. and Clay, who live here, Mrs. Rosa LONG at Denver, Colo. (1932), and Mrs. Belle WALLACE at Helena, Mont..
