THE MAN FROM IOWA... One of the wealthiest Americans in Mexico is Mr. J. H. HAMPSON, who hails from Fairfield, Iowa. HAMPSON is only fifty years of age and is so rich that he is building a railroad 400 miles in length, entirely with his own money....

HAMPSON's residence in the city of Mexico is exceeded in magnificence only by the place of President Diaz... Cuernavaca was a summer resort in the time of Hernando Cortez.... Mr. HAMPSON has laid out money lavishly in beautifying this famous resort which was a favorite of Maximilian and Cortez.....
