HOMES OF FAIRFIELD. C. W. BERG, 312 W. Broadway. Built by J. H. FRITZ in 1912 on the site of a house built by William K. ALEXANDER in 1845 when he settled here. The house was removed and stands at 406 North Sixth St., south of the Cottage Hotel. Mr. ALEXANDER was at one time County Judge and was a Captain in the 45th Iowa Infantry.

(Note: William K. ALEXANDER was County Judge at the time of the KEPHART lynching in early July, 1860.)
