Jefferson County Circuit Court Case No. 1356, Aug. Term, 1882

POINSETT vs. POINSETT.

"In the spring of 1852 the said defendant, Joseph POINSETT, left his home and abandoned his wife, the said Sarah Ann POINSETT, and his family, that he has not since then returned to his wife and family except for a short time, from January to March about the year 1864.... That at the time of his said leaving in 1852, he left nothing for the support of his said wife and family, and that they have wholly maintained themselves since that time... That about the year 1870 the said Joseph POINSETT was... at Kansas City, Missouri....
