A number of friends in and around Batavia tendered Mr. and Mrs. Elias SMITH of that place a very pleasant surprise party Friday. Mr. and Mrs. SMITH have been residents of Jefferson County since 1839, and have attained the good old ages of 80 and 72 respectively.
