"Old Jane", the bay mare which Louie HESTON drove on the mail route out of Libertyville, struck by lightning and killed last Monday. Mr. HESTON says she was more than 20 years of age. She had traveled 75,000 miles, a distance equal to three times around the world, and was still going strong, this being her 15th year on the RFD. Mr. HESTON stated she outlasted four other horses. Nearly everyone in Libertyville knew the horse and when the news traveled about, many sad eyes were seen.
