From the Prill transcriptions, a/k/a "Jefferson County Records", Vol 9, p 101, regarding a tombstone for a Jospeh DOLE in Fell Cemetery, near Libertyville ~~

The National Archives has military service file for a veteran named Joseph DOLE who served in Captain Kain's Mounted Company, Ohio Militia, from August 24, 1812, to Sept. 24, 1812. No pension file; no Bounty Land Warrant.

Unknown if this is the same Joseph DOLE but it's possible as he would have been about 20 years old at the time.
