James L. Canaday, age 20, residence Fairfield, nativity Iowa, enlisted in Co. H, 30th Iowa Infantry Regiment, August 15, 1862; mustered out June 5, 1865, Washington, D.C. The FAIRFIELD TRIBUNE, September 1884, gives his residence as Fairfield.
