FREEMAN WRIGHT, farmer; P.O. Batavia; born Sept. 3, 1806, in Lincoln, Co., Ky.; in 1815 came to Indiana; in 1849 to Jefferson County; owns 400 acres.

Married Mary A. SPROGLE July 23, 1829; she was born Jan. 17, 1814, in Philadelphia; have six children -- George W., born Dec. 9, 1837; Sarah E., born Dec. 26, 1840; Mary E., born May 12, 1845; J.M., born Dec. 15, 1849; Permelia A., born Mar. 3, 1852; and J.F., born Sept, 30, 1853.

George W. served in the army, was discharged on account of physical disability.
