BATAVIA. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry WILSON, 50th wedding anniversary. Both born and reared in the Batavia area and married Feb. 15, 1911, in Fairfield. His parents were William and Martha WILSON and Mrs. WILSON's parents were C.F. and Rachel BRADSHAW. Mrs. WILSON's sister, Mrs. Mildred TROETTE, of Bell, Calif., was an attendant at the wedding.
The WILSONs have spent most of their married life in Jefferson and Wapello Counties except for two years spent in California and Missouri and two years in Davis County, Iowa. He has been a farmer and carpenter all of his life and retired about six years ago. He carries on with his hobby of making inlaid tables and trays, cedar chests and other pieces of furniture. He has made a bedroom suite and has just finished a stand for their anniversary cake....
The WILSONs have no family of their own but Mrs. WILSON's nephew, the late Richard CHRISTY, and her two nieces, Mrs. Helen ELSHOFF of California, and Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) BEEDING of Batavia, have spent a great deal of time in their home. Mrs. WILSON's mother, Mrs. Rachel BRADSHAW, lived with them for 13 years until her death in 1943.
