Samuel WHEELER, retired, Batavia; born Sept. 3, 1787, in Montgomery Co., Ind. (Md?); when about 16 years old came to Virginia, thence to Ohio in 1855; to Jefferson County and engaged in farming.

Married Margaret ROBINSON in 1812; she was born in 1787 in Virginia; died in 1860; had nine children; five living -- Henry, Samuel, Martha, Rebecca and Sarah; lost Alexander, John, Eliza and Margaret; he served six months in the War of 1812, and assisted in the building of Fort Meigs.
