ALEXANDER HOPKIRK, b. Oct. 1853, in Lockridge Twp., son of William and Mary Hopkirk; m. fall of 1881 Addie L. Ripley; her parents lived and died in Maine. To Mr. and Mrs. Hopkirk three children:

1- Nellie M., m. Rev. Ernest Phipps, residing at Sigourney, Iowa;

2. Raymond A., age 20, cultivating the home farm;

3. Bessie L., aged 17.....
Mrs. Hopkirk passed away in April 1902....Baptist church.
