There has been considerable discussion in the newspapers of the country lately in regard to the unique case of an aged lady who now has sixty living descendants. However, Jefferson County, which is noted for its progressiveness and for the fact that it is always found at the head of the list, now presents the name of one of its oldest settlers who can beat this record. Joseph KIRK, living near Lockridge, who came with his parents to Jefferson County in 1836 at the age of three years, claims that he has ten children, thirty-eight grandchildren, and thirty-eight great-grandchildren, all living and in good health. Most all of these relatives reside in Jefferson and Henry Counties. A number of the relatives are anxious that a family reunion be held within the near future.
