JACOB WALMER

“Jacob Walmer, b. Dauphin County, Pa., 1797, son of George Walmer; m. Sarah Shoue, dau. of Henry Shoue, in Penn., 1820; she b. Dauphin Co. in 1807; after marriage they removed to Wayne Co., Ohio, settling near Wooster, where they resided from 1823 until May, 1849 when they emigrated to Jefferson county, Iowa, settling in Fairfield Township. Jacob Walmer died 5 Jan. 1863. His wife (Sarah Shoue), died November 5, 1886. Members of Lutheran Church. They had 13 children, six sons and seven daughters; seven grew to mature years: Mary, wife of Jacob Pontius of Wayne County, Ohio; Eliza, widow of Abraham Wolf and a resident of Montana; Martha, wife of Enoch Gable, a resident f Lancaster Co., Neb.; Catherine, wife of William Gift, living in Wapello County near Ottumwa, Iowa; Daniel, who married Mary Duncan and after her death married Susanna C. Whitson, a farmer of Fairfield Township; JOSEPH, married LIZZIE PATTERSON and is living in Cedar Township; Anthony Wayne, who was born in Iowa, married Jennie Camlin and is living in Holridge, Neb.
