Obituary:

Mrs. J.A. Watson

Mary E. Watson daughter of B.T. and Susan E. Williams, was born near Stockport, Van Buren County, Iowa April 2, 1858 and passed away November 24, 1927 at the age of 69 years 7 months and 22 days, after an illness of four days of bronchial pneumonia. She had spent her entire life in Van Buren and Jefferson county with the exception of three years spent in Nebraska. On March 6, 1879 she was united in marriage to John A. Watson who preceded her in death January 19, 1919. Nine children were born to this union, three living passed to the great beyond, one dying in infancy, Daniel N., a son on April 25, 1911 and Velma L. Carter, November 25, 1915. Those living are Mrs. Susie Johnston, Mrs. Rosa Metz, John and Ray all of Glasgow and Mrs. Benna Harlan and Mrs. Mae Peebler, both of Fairfield, Iowa. All were by her bedside in her last illness.

Also, 18 grandchildren are left to mourn the loss of a dear mother and grandmother. She is also survived by four brothers, J.M. Williams of Belleville, Kansas; T.T. of Altadena, California, D.B. of Foss, Ohio, and E.E. of Stockport, Iowa.

Mrs. Watson united with the M.E. Church at Glasgow 6 years ago and has been a faithful member until her health failed her. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoot at 2:00 at the M. E. church in Glasgow in charge of J.B. Prithard of Reasonor, Iowa, a former pastor of the Glasgow church. Interment was made in teh cemetery near the church.

Mrs. M. Watson died yesterday. She had been ill few days with bronchial pneunomia. Funeral Sunday

Mrs. Mary E. Watson passed away last evening at 7:15 oclock at the home of her daughter Mrs. Chester Metz, near Glasgow after a four day illness with bronchial pneumonia. Funeral services will be held Sunday aftgernoon at 2 oclock at the Glasgow church with interment at the Glasgow cemetery.

Mrs. Watson was born April 2, 1858 and has lived at Glasgow since 1901. Her husband, John A. Watson, died nine years ago. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. E.D. Johnston, Mrs. Chester Metz, John and Ray of Glasgow, Mrs. Chester Harlan and Mrs. Ellis Peebler of Fairfield.

Died of bronchial pneumonia after a 4 day illness.
