Eugene Harold Haack, age 83 of Colfax, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at his home. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Gene Haack Memorial Fund and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Fred and Vera Maude (Lenniger) Haack, Gene was born on December 14, 1930, in Lone Rock, Iowa. He graduated from Welsy High School. Gene served in the United States Army from 1954 - 1956. He owned and operated Haack Diesel & Truck Services for 35 years.

On August 13, 1994 he married Donna Sue Schieffer in Colfax.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Donna; children, Gloria (Kim) Alexander of Smithland, Iowa, Brenda (Gary) Stille of Storm Lake, Iowa, Dianne Whitacre of Wesley, Iowa, Carol (Randy) Holmes of Algona, Iowa, Linda (Richard) Richmond of Beloit, Wisconsin, and Harold (Janine) Haack of Algona, Iowa; two step sons, Robby Don Eslick and Bobby Lee Eslick both of Ankeny, Iowa; 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a sister, Lucille Broderson.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Ewald and Edward Haack. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa.
