GLENWOOD, Minn. — Robert Lyle Kling, 81, of Glenwood, Minn., formerly of Newton, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at the Lakeview Good Samaritan Home in Glenwood.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Hoplin Funeral Home in Glenwood, Minn. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Palo Alto Cemetery in Newton.
He was born May 12, 1924, in rural Newton to Leonard and Dorothy (Willy) Kling. He grew up on the family farm and helped with the daily operations for many years. He also owned a plumbing and heating company and worked in the agricultural business. He moved to Glenwood in 1975 and worked as a sales manager for Glendarosa. In 1982, he and Darl Cleland started Agri Aid Ventilation, which they operated until his retirement. He was engaged to Blondie Howard.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Penny of Baxter; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and his fiancée of Glenwood and her family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald, formerly of Newton.
