ALTOONA —William Raymond DeMoss, 81, of Altoona died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at USA Healthcare in Urbandale.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Burial will be at Dunreath Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be given to the William Raymond DeMoss Memorial Fund.

The son of William Riley and Lucy Ellen (McDaniel) DeMoss, he was born March 25, 1924, in Red Rock. He grew up in the Monroe area. He served in the U.S. Army and was a former member of the American Legion. On Feb. 28, 1960, he married Wanda Spain at the Methodist Church in Reasnor. He was a truck driver. He enjoyed dancing, camping, fishing and listening to country music.

Mr. DeMoss is survived by his wife; his children, Diana (Richard) Terpstra of Pella, Donna (Danny Mike) Critser of Keokuk and Gregory DeMoss of Des Moines; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Melvin (ErmaLee) DeMoss of Vandalia.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Darold and Harold.
