LeOna Louise Beard, 83, of Newton died of a heart ailment Friday at home. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Mrs. Beard was born in Ira and lived in the Mingo and Prairie City areas before moving to Newton in 1970. She was a homemaker.
A sister, Maude Jontz of Newton, survives.
Friends may call after noon today at Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jasper County Historical Society or the American Heart Association.
