William Moore of Valeria Killed Thursday Morning
Funeral Rites Held Saturday Morning From Sacred Heart Church, Valeria
William “Billy” Moore, 27, was fatally injured Thursday morning at Colo, Iowa, when the car in which he was riding collided with a semi-trailer truck.
Mr. Moore had only recently received his honorable discharge from the army and had been working for an uncle at McCallsburg, Iowa. He had spent the week-end at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Moore of Valeria and was on his way to work when the accident happened.
Besides his parents, he is survived by five sisters, Mary at home, Margaret, Catherine and Frances of Des Moines and Mrs. Cecilia Murphy of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Funeral services were conducted from the Sacred Heart church, Valeria, Saturday morning with Father Charles Phalen officiating, assisted by Father D. F. Cahalan. Burial was in the Holy Cross cemetery near Farrar.
