Mrs. Bevan Dies
Funeral Will Be Held Friday Afternoon
Mrs. Samuel T. Bevan dies at the home of her adopted daughter, Mrs. W. H. Bentley Wednesday morning at 9:30 o’clock from dropsy of the heart and other complicated diseases after an illness of more than eleven weeks. She has, however, been in failing health since four years ago when she suffered from pneumonia.
She was in her eightieth year and the greater part of that time was spent in and around Kellogg. When she was but a child in her twelfth year, her father, who was one of the first settlers, leased land in the Adamson Grove neighborhood where he reared his family.
Mrs. Bevan’s husband died fifteen years ago at Ankeny and was brought back to the Friends Center cemetery for burial. Here Mrs. Bevan will also be buried Friday after the funeral services which will be held at 3 o’clock from the Friends Center church.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. E. W. Bay, of Kellogg, and one adopted daughter, with whom she made her home.
The deceased is well known. She leaves a large number of sorrowing friends who will miss the little kindnesses which this good woman has done during her long life.
