Baxter Woman Dies of “Flu”
Mrs. A. E. Schnell died at her home southwest of Baxter a week ago Friday. She was ill only a very short time. She leaves a husband and four children who have the sympathy of the entire community.
Miss Laura Selma Reckler was born October 7th, 1886, four and one half miles northwest of Newton. In 1907 she married A. E. Schnell. Five children were born to them, four of whom are living, one having died in infancy. The oldest is a boy 9 years and the youngest a boy two years old. The entire family had been ill with influenza and she had cared for all of the, which left her in a weakened condition and she was unable to resist the attack. She was a very devoted and faithful wife and mother and her passing away will mean a great loss to the family.
Funeral services were held at the home last Tuesday morning, November 26. Burial was made in the Newton cemetery.
