Dorothy Nadine Brock, 82, of 1312 S. 9th Ave. E. died of heart failure Saturday, Aug. 9, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Pence-Reese Funeral home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E. in Newton, with the Rev. Gene Bryant of the First Christian Church in Newton officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton.

Friends may call after 8 a.m. Tuesday where the family will be available from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Jasper County.

The daughter of John Wiley Stoner and Millie Mildred (Johnston Surber) Stoner, she was born Aug. 16, 1920, in rural Prairie City. She graduated from Prairie City High School in 1937. On June 22, 1937, she married John Worthing Brock in Des Moines. She was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church in Prairie City.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Ira Raymond Brock of Chariton and James Wiley Brock of Newton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Louise and Ernie Bell and Susan Ann and Bud Pickett, all of Newton; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Eugene Simbro of Knoxville; and a sister-in-law, Lois Stoner of Colorado Springs, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Roy Stoner.
