Myron Alvin Renaud was born on September 4, 1921, on the family farm south of Sully to Walter and Sarah Brand Renaud. He received his early education at the Ironclad Country School near Sully. In June of 1944 Myron was inducted into the United States Army. On September 2, 1944, he was united in marriage with Sophia Van Norden in Texas where he was stationed. In January 1945, Myron went to Europe to serve his country. He was discharged from service in June of 1946, receiving a purple heart. Upon returning from service Myron and Sophia started farming south of Sully, one mile from his birthplace. They were blessed with two sons: Merle and Rudy. In 1962 the family moved to a farm north of Sully. After retirement in 1979 they moved to Sully. Myron enjoyed dairy farming, working in his shop, repairing, and welding. He loved making gifts for his granddaughters in his woodworking shop.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Sophia; his two sons and their spouses; Merle and Karen Renaud of La Crescent, Minnesota and Rudy and Shirley Renaud of Council Bluffs, Iowa; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law, Wilfred and Mildred Renaud of Peoria, Iowa; and his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Renaud of Pella, Iowa. Preceding him in death: his parents and two brothers, DeVerne (Norma) Renaud and Ivan Renaud.
Myron knew the Lord and was a Christian all of his life. He passed this love on to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed greatly by his family. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at the Sully Christian Reformed Church.  Burial took place at the Sully Cemetery.  The Pella Garden Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
