Otto Carroll, 86, Services to be Held Thursday

Funeral services for Otto Carroll, 86, of 801 S. 5th Ave. W., a resident of Jasper County for more than 70 years, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Loehr Funeral Chapel.

The Rev. Gregory Caldwell, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 12:30 p.m. today.

Survivors are his wife, Rebecca; two sons, George of Folsom, Calif., and Dr. Wesley of Dearborn, Mich.; a grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and a twin brother, Leo Carroll of Colfax.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Carroll, a member of the Maytag 25-year club, was an electrician.

The Son of George B. and Dora Negley Carroll, he was born June 4, 1888 at Earlham and attended Colfax schools.

He was married to Rebecca McWhirter in September, 1908, at the Christian Church in Colfax.

He died Monday at the Embassy Manor in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, Feb. 1975.
