COLFAX – Mary Ruth Hanna, 79, of Colfax died Saturday, April .5, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax, with Father Phil Cardenzana officiating. Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery. Walters - Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax is handling arrangements.

Friends may call today after 2 p.m. at the church where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Jasper County or Colfax Fire Department.

The daughter of Ernest and Mary (Wheeler) Hartnett, she was born Feb. 3, 1924, in Colfax. She was a 1941 graduate of Colfax High School.
On May 28, 1944, she married Vern Norman Hanna in Colfax. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Alter and Rosary, Colfax Women's Club, Weavers Guild of Des Moines and the Historical Society of Colfax.

Survivors include her husband, two sons, Mike of Colfax and Pat of Louisiana; a daughter, Barb Hanna of Colfax; two grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanne Hagge of Colfax.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
