BAXTER - Iva Marie Gibson, 100, of Baxter died Saturday, April 5, at Baxter Care Center in Baxter.

Funeral services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 Douglas Ave., Ames, with Pastor Bill Gardner of Baxter officiating. Burial will be at Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials will be accepted in her name.

The daughter of Robert and Olive (Day) McColly, she was born Feb. 16, 1903, in Luther. She married Walter D. Comstock on Jan. 4, 1922, in Boone County. He died in 1968. She later married Charles E. Gibson in Santa Barbara, Calif., in April 1972. He died in 1980. She was a homemaker and lived in Ames for 45 years. She was a resident of Santa Barbara, Calif., for 15 years and a resident of Baxter since 1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Lou Sturgis of Ames; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 11 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, a son, Robert D. Comstock, an infant sister, Gracie McColly and two brothers, Russell and Cleo McColly.
