Ronald Edwin Streeter
July 30, 1945 ~ February 3, 2024 (age 78)

Ronald Edwin Streeter, 78, of Kellogg died on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Unity Point Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 9, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, February 8, at the funeral home. Memorials to the Kellogg Fire and Ambulance may be left at the funeral home.

Ron, the son of Thurman and Gladoline (Shickell) Streeter, was born on July 30, 1945 in Marshalltown. He grew up in Kellogg and graduated from Newton High School in 1963. After serving his country in the U.S. Army, Ron returned to Iowa and received a business degree from AIB. On May 31, 1969, Ron was united in marriage with Merry J. Anderson on May 31, 1969 at the First United Methodist Church in Newton.

Ron was a lifelong farmer; through the years he also worked at the Kellogg/Sully Bank and Trust, the Maytag Company, Ambassador Steel and the Kellogg Co-op. Ron was active in the Kellogg community, being a member of the Kellogg Co-op, Kellogg Telephone Association, Jaycees, and the Kellogg United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, playing golf and softball, and playing games and cards with family and friends. Family and farming were the two things that Ron loved the most.

Ron is survived by his wife, Merry Streeter of Kellogg; children, Melissa (Kendall) Miller of Newton, Ryan (Brenda) Streeter of New Virginia, and Rob (Jenni) Streeter of Kellogg; grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Marshall, and Kimberlee Miller, Brady Streeter, Gavin and Gabbi Van Baale, and Wesley and Jordyn Streeter; great-grandchild, Forest; sisters-in-law, Sue Streeter and Carolyn Streeter; brother-in-law, Tom Astleford; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda (Steve) Osborn; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings, Delores Jay, Shirley Barr, Gary Streeter, Caroline Mathre, Donald Streeter, Judy Astleford, and Larry Streeter.
