Obituary of Carrol Lloyd Blankenship
Please share a memory of Carrol to include in a keepsake book for familyCarrol Lloyd Blankenship, the son of Charlie S. and Erma Hazel (Allgood) Blankenship, was born December 17, 1928, in Peru, Nebraska. He graduated from high school in Peru in 1947. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
On December 10, 1953, Carrol was united in marriage with Arlene Margaret Kropp in Norfolk, Nebraska. Carroll worked as a bridge builder following his time in the service. He then went on to work at the Colfax Sales Barn and was a home builder in the Jasper County area for thirty-five years. Carrol was a member of the Carpenter Union Local 106.
Carrol died on January 22, 2024, in Newton, Iowa. He was 95 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arlene in 1990; his son, Roger; his siblings, Dale, Leland, Charles, Lester, Dela, Neva and Lena.
