Lawrence "Andy" A Jackson
December 16, 1927 ~ November 23, 2023 (age 95)

Lawrence Andrew “Andy” Jackson, 95, of Newton died on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 29, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service and again after the service with a lunch at the funeral home. Memorials to the First United Methodist Church or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa may be left at the funeral home.

Andy, the son of Lawrence and Susan (Colvin) Jackson, Sr., was born on December 16, 1927 in Newton. He was a lifelong resident of Jasper County and attended Newton schools. When he turned 18, he began working at the Maytag Company. On May 15, 1949, Andy was united in marriage with Juanita Krieger in Williamsburg. Shortly after, he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. When he returned, he continued working at Maytag in Parts Distribution, retiring in 1983. He also farmed his own land and helped others on their farms. Andy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the UAW Local 997, and the past President of the Newton Blue Jay Radio Club. Andy was extremely artistic and enjoyed doing pencil drawings. He and Juanita also enjoyed riding and traveling on their Harley.

Andy is survived by his children, Randy (Patty) Jackson of Newton, Mark (Jane) Jackson of Polk City, and Sheri (Bob) Davis of Slater; his grandchildren, Brandon (Samantha) Jackson, Stacy Kuiper, Ashley (Cody) Moe, Mackenzie (Felix) Palmillas, and Katelyn Jackson; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Jett Jackson, Quinn and Boston Kuiper, and Sofia Palmillas; and his nieces and nephews, Diane Coleman, Kathy Crenshaw, Carey Krieger, Sharon Quinn, and Richard Davidson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita in 2014; sister, Helen Davidson; and a nephew, Wade Krieger.
