Maxwell – Funeral services for Asa Conner were held Thursday, March 13 at the Cooper Funeral Home with the Rev. George Yetter officiating. Madeline Summitt presided at the organ.
Casket bearers were Charles Hill, Max Hill, Ralph Conner, John Conner, Vern Bonney and Carl Weeks. Interment was in the Graham cemetery near Mingo.
Those attending from a distance were from Hampton, Dougherty, Indianola and New Virginia.
Life Sketch
Asa Conner was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Conner, near Mingo in Jasper county Aug. 29, 1881 and died March 10, 1958 in the Story County Hospital, Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors are a sister, Irma Conner, thirteen nephews and five nieces.
Asa retired from farming and moved to Maxwell in 1948 which has since been his home.
