Mrs. Bertha Borts, 72, Dies; Funeral Thursday
Mingo – Mrs. Bertha Borts, 72, died Monday noon at the Story County Hospital after suffering a stroke.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p. m. from the Mingo Methodist church with the Rev. Kenneth E. Nesbitt officiating. Burial will be in the Ashton Chapel cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter until 1:30 Wednesday when it will be taken to her home.
Mrs. Borts was preceded in death by her husband Eli, who died last year.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Reva) Morrison of Collins, Mrs. Zelma Slavens of Mingo, Mrs. Eldon (Lena) Geisler of Mingo; a son, Paul, of Mingo; two grandsons, Don Borts, in the Marines at San Diego, Jim Borts of Mingo; two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Clara) Tiffany of Collins and Mrs. Lafe (Lena) Eubank, Nevada.
