CEDAR RAPIDS — Charlotte Irene (Deal) Sixta, 84, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Kellogg, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, at Manor Care Health Services in Cedar Rapids.

Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Marion. Private family burial was held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts in her name to First United Methodist Church in Marion or to El Kahir Shrine in Cedar Rapids. On line condolences may be sent through the Web site

The daughter of Jerry O. and Irene (Stahler) Deal, she was born Oct. 28, 1920, in Tipton. As a child, she and her family lived in West Liberty and Stewart, Minn.

In 1933, her family moved to the Rock Creek Lake area and she graduated from Kellogg High School in 1938. She graduated from the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in Des Moines. On Sept. 15, 1943, she married Robert J. Sixta and they made their home in Marion.

Survivors include her children, Judi (Rueben) Peppler of Ripon, Wis., Carole (Blake) Ford of Ely and Robert (Helen Monsees) Sixta of Rochester, Minn.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Pauline, Berniece and infant sister, Marie Irene; and two brothers, Carlton and Jerry.
