L. J. Jorgenson Dies
Funeral Services at Morgan Funeral Home Monday
L. J. Jorgenson, who for the past years has been sexton of the newton cemetery, died at his home this morning at 2:30 o’clock following two weeks of serious illness.
Mr. Jorgenson was 58 years of age and has lived at various intervals in Newton a large share of his life. For some time he resided in Rock Island, Illinois, and while there the first wife died. He was later married to Mrs. Bessie Trotter, who survives him.
Mr. Jorgenson enjoyed the friendship of a large group of friends and his work as sexton of the newton cemetery was always very efficient Under his care the cemetery was made one of the prettiest and best kept in the state.
Besides his wife, Mr. Jorgenson leaves four children, Mrs. A. J. Waddall of Monroe, Earl B. Jorgenson of Manhattan, Kansas and Grace and Ray Jorgenson of Newton.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at Morgan Funeral Home.
Dr W H. Blancke, pastor of the Lutheran church had charge of the services.
