Phyllis Mary Ann Leasure obituary, 1931-2011, Denison, TX

DENISON - Phyllis Mary Ann (Marose) Leasure, age 80, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2011 following a short illness.

Phyllis was born to Martin and Minerva Marose in Newton, Iowa on March 17, 1931. She married the love of her life, Thomas R. Leasure on December 7, 1949 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. They celebrated their 61st anniversary in December. Phyllis worked in the Denison and Sherman area for several years for the local hospitals, in administration. She loved to sew and was the most creative person you would ever meet. She had a wonderful sense of humo, and was a joy to be around. She loved the Lord and her nine children were her life. Phyllis was a kind and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed but will live on forever in her family and friends hearts.

She is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, Thomas R. Leasure of the home; daughters: Sandy Meyer of Denison, Lyndi Starling and husband Doug of Davenport, IA, Donnie Bell and husband Don of Davenport, IA, Carla Bucher and husband David of Denison, Annie Dillard and husband Bob of Denison, and Barbie Price and husband Jr. of Sherman; Sons: Marty Leasure of Denison, Tommy Leasure and wife Sheila of Denison, and John Leasure and wife Michelle of Allen, TX. Grandchildren: Jason Leasure, Bryan Leasure, Lauren Hillard, Chad Leasure, Brook Morrison, Eric Starling, Amber Jacks, Beth Ann Evans, Ashely Gibson, Jason Gibson, Leslie Gibson, Tasha Schaded, Leo Bucher, Luke Bucher, Deann Lemon, Morgan Lemon, Shauna Smart, Marcus Garvin, Jennifer Garvin, Ricky Price, Amanda Leasure, Alex Leasure, and Ben Leasure. Phyllis also had 24 great grandchildren. Sisters: Carol Hurley and husband Jan of the Villages, Florida, Jo Ann Fox and husband Bill of Dickerson, MD, and sister-in-law Barbara Henderson of Newton, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2011 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Leo Bucher, Eric Starling, Chad Leasure, Luke Bucher, Alex Leasure, and Marcus Garvin serving as pallbearers. A reception will be held after committal services at the Oak Ridge Community Bldg. next to the cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Fisher Funeral Home. Funeral home will open at 1 p.m.
