Ethel Lemke Dies; Services Set Saturday
Kellogg – Mrs. Milo (Ethel) Lemke, 70, of Kellogg, a longtime resident of Kellogg, died Wednesday at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kellogg Christian Church.
The Rev. James Christianson, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.
Friends may call at Johnson Funeral Home after noon Friday.
Surviving are a son, Earl of Kellogg; a granddaughter, Mrs. Lee (Susan) Shenton of Columbus, Ohio; a great-grandson, Shawn Shenton of Columbus, Ohio; and six sisters, Mrs. Lila Gregory and Mrs. Opal Smith, both of Kellogg, Mrs. Grace Shoemaker of Grinnell, Mrs. Jaunita Carlock of Palm Springs, Calif., Mrs. Rose Leavelle of Palm Springs, Calif.; and Mrs. Myrtle Lamb of Newton.
Also surviving are six brothers, Harm Cooper, Bill Cooper and Everett Cooper, all of Kellogg, Shelby Cooper and Dick Cooper, both of Grinnell and Delmar Cooper of Newton; and a half-brother, Alvin Cooper of Kellogg.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband in 1960.
Mrs. Lemke was a member of the Kellogg Christian Church and the Kellogg American Legion Auxiliary.
The daughter of Alvin and Martha Slagel Cooper, she was born April 11, 1900, at Birdstown, Tenn.
She was married to Milo Lemke May 29, 1919 in Newton.
