Guy Emmett Wilson, 89, of Newton died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at Heritage Manor Care Center in Newton.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted in his name.

The son of Jasper Wilson and Geneva Boat, he was born June 26, 1919, in Kellogg. He attended Jasper County schools and Kellogg Senior High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

On April 25, 1942, he married Florence Marie Goehanoor in Princeton, Mo. He worked for Ford Company Implement and was a Newton Daily News motor route carrier for 32 years.

He was a member of IOOF Lodge, Ford Motor Company UAW Union. He enjoyed camping and enjoyed his dogs. He traveled in all 50 states and Canada.

Survivors include a sister, Daisy Gregory of Newton; "adopted" daughter, Luella Bragg of Grinnell; four godchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a sister, Grace Trease; and half-sister, Esterence Bolton.
