Othor R. Bud Innis, 70, died Sunday, August 29, 2010, at home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 1, 2010, from noon to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Full military honors will be provided by the VFW Harry C. Harter Post #839. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com . Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Bud and his family. Othor Russell Innis was born on August 24, 1940, in Iowa City to Russell and Floreene (Swearingen) Innis. Bud attended school in the Marshalltown School District. He served our country honorably from 1960 to 1964 in the United States Navy.
Bud resided in Marshalltown his entire life. He had been employed at Fisher Controls for 30 years, retiring in 1995. Bud was a member of the Local UAW #893 and the American Legion. Bud enjoyed his bowling league, golfing, and riding his 3-wheeler. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality and his ability to be social with anyone. Left to cherish Buds memory are his special friend, Linda Watts of Marshalltown; his siblings Dorretta Costello of Teaneck, New Jersey, Mary Bess Draegert of Grinnell, Iowa, Robert Innis of Barnes City, Iowa, Kenneth (Vicki) Innis of Havelock, North Carolina, and Paullette Ruth (Steve) Kirby of Newburg, Iowa; many nieces and nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews; and his 4-legged friends Daisy, Sadie, and Missy.
In death Bud rejoins his parents, Russell and Floreene, his sister Hazel Draegert, his brother Bill Innis, nephew Russell Lacy, and niece Mary Haas.
