Mingo Items – Died: Mrs. Cora Pitcock, aged 24 years, 8 months and 6 days, after a long illness with consumption, passed quietly away, June 7th, 1897. She leaves a husband, three children and a large circle of friends to mourn their loss. During all her sickness she bore her suffering without complaint to the very last hours. Her last day she talked considerable, advising her friends how they should live to meet her in Heaven, and arranged homes for her little children, and where and how she wished to be buried, called all to her room bid each one good bye and closed her eyes in death. The remains were laid to rest in the Ashton cemetery, beside her father. Rev. King, of Colfax, preached the funeral sermon.
